About Totuccio
Totuccio Alimentari is the result of years of ideas and conversations between Salvatore Mulé and Paul Lau—two wine buddies who’ve worked together in the wine industry since 2009. They’re also the owners of The Winey Neighbor, a small wine shop in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. After years of guiding customers on wine pairings—especially with pasta dishes—a light bulb went off. The idea for a pasta and sauce brand was also sparked by a holiday tradition: every year, they’d gift customers pasta, olive oil, and canned tomatoes as a thank-you for their support. It was a simple gesture that always resonated.
While working together at the shop, the two would brainstorm names until they landed on Totuccio Alimentari. “Totuccio” is a Sicilian nickname for Salvatore, given to him by his Uncle Calogero at family gatherings and holiday meals. “Alimentari” means food or groceries—simple, everyday essentials. The name felt right: personal, familiar, and rooted in tradition. Totuccio Alimentari was born!
